The story for what it is

A show written, performed and improvised by
The Differents

Directed by
Alessandro Ghebreigziabiher

About:
In 2007, in this work the Differents have tried to get the stories of others: the macro-stories, all those relating to the detriment of individual micro ones. On the one hand, a macro-classical story, with its archetypes and its universal themes: Hamlet. On the other, a macro-public fact, the destruction of the twin towers. In this way Theatre, that is, the drama, the action made at a distance that can allow us to understand reality better than any newscast, becomes the ideal tool to return to the actor his most important role: courageous witness of his time, an observer of unsaid things, to reveal the deceit of the powerful. The second show was therefore a tribute to the classic Morality, highly relevant to the present day and in our Italy, where many people cleverness confuse the concept of morality with moralism. The spectacle debuted at the first edition of The Gift of Diversity Storytelling Festival. In 2010, here comes the new version of the play, an adaptation ever based on the morality play. However, if the macro-public fact in the very first idea was the September 11 tragedy, this time was the every day’s life, in a neighborhood like many others, in a city like Rome. In 2011, on occasion of the World Storytelling day 2011, the Differents will bring their show nearer to the actuality, making it clearer as the water of the event’s theme should ever be…
